Wieliczka Salt Mine, Poland The salt mine at Wieliczka, near Kraków, is the oldest of her kind in the world. Visitors learn about the actual mining process and the importance of salt during medieval times. They are, moreover, dazzled by elaborate chapels and underground rooms beautifully decorated, carved out of Miocene salt; sculptures accompanying and comforting the Miners life. € 45
