ITINERARY SUMMARY


Day1 Departure Late evening departure towards Greece.
Day2 Monastery of Meteora Breathtaking views make the Meteora Valley a must-visit on any trip to Greece. Wake up to the dramatic landscape and visit the interior of one or two of the twelve active monasteries perched on top of steep rocks. We continue to Thessaloniki. Upon arrival, join our local guide, an expert in Greek history, on a walking tour of the historical city center. Walk by the ruins of Galerius' Palace, Arch of Galerius, and ancient Roman Forum, while learning about the past and the present of Thessaloniki. At the end of the tour, the guide will suggest activities for your stay and answer any questions you may have.
Day3 Free Time and Full day Halkidiki Excursion Free time at Thessaloniki or spend a full day at the beach during the full-day excursion to Halkidiki. The peninsula has long been famed for its beautiful natural landscape and exotic beaches. Enjoy the crystal clear water and take advantage of the many water activities available. In the afternoon, free time for your explorations or perhaps to enjoy one of the easily accessible beaches in the area. In the evening, back in Thessaloniki, join the city's vibrant nightlife.
Day4 Free Time or Excursion to Pella and Vergina Free time or join us on a 1/2 day excursion to Pella, best known as the capital of the ancient kingdom of Macedon and birthplace of Alexander the Great, and to Vergina to the intriguing underground museum containing the Royal Tombs of Aigai. We are back in time for a night in the city when Thessaloniki is getting alive at sunset, with people strolling around the bars and cafeterias and its clubs staying open all night long.
Day5 Return Another day at the Aegean sea to combine sightseeing and sunbathing, to fill in the blanks before returning our late afternoon departure.

MAIN HIGHLIGHTS

Greece The impact of ancient Greece on the Western world can't be overstated. The notion of democracy, the concept of the atom, the image of the Earth as round, the scientific method itself -- all these and more had their birth in the writings of ancient Greece but seeing it in real life at the Acropolis, Delphi and Olympia is far more exhilarating most visitors had hoped for. Of course few places on earth rival the diversity it offers from its islands such as Mykonos, Santorini, Crete, Paros, Naxos and Rhodes with their beautiful beaches to its cuisine, nightlife and archaeological sites no to mention the Peloponnese with its high mountains and beautiful coast with some 300 days of sunshine.
Hike the Mount Itamos 4 hrs. Moderate hiking with a guide throughout the mountain's pinewoods, through a Sithonia. It is a protected reserve with extraordinary flora and fauna. Kingdom of Macedonia Take a deep dive into the ancient Kingdom of Macedonia during this full-day excursion visit to the Pealla, the historical capital of the ancient kingdom of Macedon and the birthplace of Alexander the Great. The birthplace of Alexander the Great, Virginia's beloved museum, showcases the royal tomb of King Philip the Second and many more artifacts from the ancient capital. A licensed guide will be with us throughout the day, pointing out the highlights not to be missed.
Thessaloniki City Tour A licensed local guide will familiarize you with Thessaloniki sites such as the White Tower, Galerius Arch, the Rotunda monument, Old Town (Ano Poli), the city walls, Demetrius Byzantine church, and crypt.
Beach Fun Enjoy the beach and choose 2 of the following water activities Canoe: 1 hour- maximum of two people per canoe Petal: 1 hour-maximum two people per petal Inflatable sports 2-5 people 12min (crazy ufo, Ringo, aqua slider, slider, etc.) Choice of two water activities of the list above. Decide on the location.
Boat tour along the coast Leisurely 3hr boat tour along the coast with a view of Monasteries of the Holy Mountain of Athos, commentary from the captain. You might see some Dolphins accompanying you.
Full day in Halkidiki Halkidiki, one hour away from Thessaloniki, is a favorite spot for summer vacation featuring Mediterranean forests, sandy beaches, and sheltered bays to take advantage of outdoor and water activities. Take a ride with us, enjoy a full day at your leisure with leisure time for the beach, souvenir shopping and opt for some activities. Private transportation, 8 hrs at the coastal town with sandy beaches.
Scuba Diving Are you ready to experience your first diving experience and discover the underwater world? In a 2-hour program, experienced instructors will give a brief introduction to the diving theory and make you familiar with the equipment. Then dive always in the company of your trainer in the beautiful blue waters of the region. Time:2 hours(preparation, dive theory, dive) Minimum 1 person - Maximum 4 Equipment and boat rental for licensed divers available upon request
